Businesses Ignoring E-Discovery Rules
A year and 16 days after the institution of the revised Federal Rules of Civil Procedure on Dec. 1, 2006, about two-thirdsof U.S. businesses remain unprepared to meet strict court requirements for the discovery and handling of electronic evidence, according to a data storage researcher. The new regulations, ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court in April 2006, mandate that businesses must be able to quickly produce such data—including e-mail, digital word documents, images and digital audio and video—when required by litigation in a federal court.
Lorain County JFS Improves Paper Volume Management

Lorain County is a major port and shipping center in Ohio and is home to almost 290,000 residents. The Department of Job & Family Services (DJFS) dispenses food stamps, medical assistance and child support monthly to those who qualify for welfare assistance. Each month the department handles between 40,000 and 50,000 cases.
The Challenge - All agencies in Ohio that utilize the state’s Client Registry Information System-Enhanced (CRIS-E) system must have applicants for welfare services fill out an extensive common application form (CAF). The agency needed a way to more efficiently manage the high volume of paper inherent in their case management activities.
City of Cleveland - Water Division

We were selected by the City of Cleveland’s, Department of Public Utilities to supply and implement an enterprise wide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) within the Cleveland Water Division (CWD).
In addition to the EDMS, CASNET will also be supplying and installing document scanners at 25 CWD locations through out the region and at the headquarters building downtown.
